This windjammer (above photo)   belongs to the only working windjammer fleet in the world – in Maine. Maine’s oldest industry will be adding 700 new jobs. Barclays Bank & other call centers are bringing jobs to Maine. Businessess are coming because of Maine's Quality of Place, the Maine workforce and Pine Tree Zone tax incentives

Pine Tree Zones are bringing thousands of quality jobs to Maine. Maine's workforce and the tax incentives provided by Pine Tree Zones are proving to be a dynamic economic engine.

Broadband news -With funds allocated by the 123rd legislature super high speed broadband will be avalible at UM, Bowdoin and Bates colleges

After a study commissioned by the governor on the status of bridges throughout Maine a plan to repair needed bridge infrastructre was developed and $160 Million will be invested

In an exclusive interview Gov. Baldacci talks about the economic opportunities refurbished railroad lines will bring.

The potential of trains returning to Maine has the governor excited about future economic opportunities. Plans have been made to make sure trains will run from Boston to Portland and all the way up to Montreal through Lewiston. Please see story at : Railroads are making a come back
