With research and development that puts Maine on the cutting edge, the state's natural
resources are being used sustainabley to spur economic development while making the state
more energy independent
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS Governor John E. Baldacci In an exclusive interview the Governor discusses Maine's energy needs, how the state is helping people combat the high cost of oil, and explains the states potential as a renewable energy supplier. The Governor says that the future of green color jobs in Maine, has great potential; wind mill blades are being built and ethanol will be produced in Maine because of research at UMaine. The states forest lands are also gold mines or as Gov. Baldacci says, We are the Saudi Arabia of wood, as long as we protect the resource in a sustainable way. For more please read the story

The Commissioner also speaks about how the DOL is streamlining services making them more efficient.
