(right) Gov. Baldacci went to Brunswick Naval Air Station (BNAS) on the day after it was slated to close, to talk to workers and offer state assistance, with members of his staff. Two and half years later BNAS is on the road to become Maines first center for aviation and will bring other companies with more high-tech jobs and training. It's a new beginning for the former Brunswick Naval Air Station This issue looks into how development in Maine, from businesses to communities and downtown renovation, is helping to formulate a sound economic direction and future for the state.
